Archiving Policy

Archiving Policy – Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS)

The Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and integrity of all published content. We employ multiple strategies to safeguard the scholarly record and guarantee that articles remain permanently available to readers worldwide.

1. Digital Preservation Systems

  • JAHS participates in internationally recognized archiving and preservation initiatives, including:

    • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) for OJS-based journals.

    • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS for decentralized preservation.

    • Internet Archive indexing of published content.

  • These systems ensure content remains accessible even in the event of website failure or discontinuation.

2. Self-Archiving by Authors

  • JAHS permits and encourages authors to self-archive their work:

    • Preprints (submitted version)

    • Postprints (accepted version)

    • Final published version (publisher’s PDF)

  • Authors may deposit their work in:

    • Institutional repositories

    • Subject repositories (e.g., PubMed Central, ResearchGate, Academia.edu)

    • Personal websites or academic profiles

  • No embargo period applies.

3. Permanent Identifiers

  • All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) via CrossRef.

  • DOIs provide persistent, citable links to articles, ensuring discoverability and long-term stability.

4. Indexing & Discoverability

  • Articles are indexed in Google Scholar, DOAJ, and other academic databases for global visibility.

  • Metadata is preserved in open formats (XML, OAI-PMH) for interoperability with library systems and repositories.

5. Backup & Redundancy

  • The journal maintains regular backups of its website, database, and published content.

  • Backup copies are securely stored on multiple servers to prevent data loss.

6. In Case of Journal Discontinuation

  • In the unlikely event that JAHS ceases publication, all published articles will remain:

    • Permanently available via PKP PN, LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, and other preservation partners.

    • Archived on the journal’s hosting servers and third-party repositories.

  • The scholarly record will remain intact and accessible without interruption.

7. Alignment with Best Practices

This Archiving Policy aligns with:

  • COPE Principles of Transparency

  • DOAJ Best Practices for Long-Term Preservation

  • ICMJE and WAME Recommendations

  • Scopus and PubMed indexing requirements
