Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy – Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS)

The Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS) is committed to the principles of open access publishing, ensuring that all published content is freely available to researchers, practitioners, students, policymakers, and the wider public without financial, legal, or technical barriers.

Our policy is designed in alignment with international standards (Budapest Open Access Initiative, Berlin Declaration, Plan S, and COPE guidelines).

1. Definition of Open Access

  • All articles published in JAHS are immediately and permanently accessible online without subscription or registration fees.

  • Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of articles without restriction, provided proper attribution is given to the original work.

  • No prior permission is required from the publisher or authors for lawful use.

2. Licensing & Copyright

  • JAHS publishes all articles under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License (unless otherwise stated).

    • This license allows unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original author and source are credited.

  • Copyright remains with the authors. Authors retain full rights to:

    • Reuse their work in any future publications.

    • Share preprints and postprints in repositories.

    • Deposit articles in institutional or subject repositories.

  • By submitting to JAHS, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive license to publish and disseminate the work.

3. Author Rights

  • Authors have the right to:

    • Archive the preprint (submitted version), postprint (accepted version), and final published PDF in personal, institutional, or subject repositories without embargo.

    • Reuse figures, data, and excerpts with proper citation.

    • Present and disseminate their work at conferences, workshops, or educational platforms.

4. Reader Rights

  • All users have free, unrestricted access to JAHS content worldwide.

  • Articles can be downloaded, shared, or reused for non-commercial or commercial purposes under the CC BY license, ensuring maximum dissemination and visibility.

5. Article Processing Charges (APCs)

  • JAHS is an open-access, non-profit journal.

  • Currently, no submission, processing, or publication fees are charged to authors.

  • If APCs are introduced in the future, they will be transparently declared on the journal’s website, in compliance with DOAJ and COPE requirements.

6. Compliance with Funding Mandates

  • JAHS complies with the open-access policies of funding agencies and institutions.

  • Authors may deposit their published work in repositories as required by their funding agencies (e.g., Plan S, ICMR, DBT, DST, NIH, Horizon Europe).

7. Digital Archiving & Preservation

To ensure long-term availability and accessibility, JAHS maintains digital archiving through:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) for OJS-hosted journals.

  • LOCKSS / CLOCKSS systems (where applicable).

  • Self-archiving in institutional repositories.

  • Permanent DOIs assigned via CrossRef for article identification and citation tracking.

8. Plagiarism & Ethical Publishing

  • JAHS strictly follows COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.

  • All submissions are screened for plagiarism via Similarity Check (CrossRef/iThenticate).

  • Cases of research misconduct (fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, redundant publication, unethical clinical research) will be handled as per COPE flowcharts.

9. Third-Party Content

  • Authors must ensure that third-party content (figures, tables, images) included in their article is either:

    • Licensed under CC BY or equivalent, OR

    • Used with proper permissions obtained from copyright holders.

10. Disclaimer & Legal Notice

  • While JAHS ensures rigorous peer review and editorial standards, the responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of published content rests with the authors.

  • The journal and publisher assume no liability for any loss or damages arising from the use of published material.
