Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines – Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS)

The Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS) welcomes high-quality submissions in the field of homoeopathy and related disciplines. To maintain scientific integrity and consistency, authors must adhere to the following guidelines when preparing and submitting manuscripts.


1. Scope of the Journal

JAHS publishes:

  • Original Research Articles

  • Review Articles and Systematic Reviews/Meta-Analyses

  • Case Reports and Case Series

  • Short Communications

  • Editorials, Commentaries, and Letters to the Editor

  • Educational and Clinical Practice Updates


2. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be written in English.

  • Submissions should be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Authors must comply with ethical, legal, and scientific standards (COPE, ICMJE, Helsinki Declaration).

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors are required to upload a plagiarism/similarity report (from iThenticate, Turnitin, or equivalent) with their submission. The similarity index must generally be below 15%, excluding references and standard phrases. Manuscripts without a plagiarism report may be returned without review.


3. Manuscript Structure

3.1 Original Research Articles

  • Title Page: Title, author(s), affiliation(s), corresponding author contact, ORCID iD.

  • Abstract (250 words max): Structured (Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, Conclusion).

  • Keywords: 3–6 keywords (MeSH/Index terms recommended).

  • Main Text: IMRAD format – Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion.

  • Acknowledgments.

  • Conflict of Interest Statement.

  • Funding Statement.

  • References (see section 7).

3.2 Review Articles

  • Abstract (up to 300 words).

  • Clearly state methodology (especially for systematic reviews/meta-analyses).

  • PRISMA guidelines should be followed.

3.3 Case Reports

  • Abstract (150–200 words).

  • Sections: Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusion.

  • Patient consent for publication is mandatory.

3.4 Other Contributions

  • Editorials, commentaries, short communications ≤1500 words.


4. Formatting Guidelines

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced.

  • Margins: 1 inch.

  • Tables and figures at the end with legends.


5. Figures and Tables

  • Figures: High-resolution (≥300 dpi), formats JPEG/PNG/TIFF.

  • Tables must be editable.

  • All figures/tables must be cited in text and numbered sequentially.


6. Ethical Considerations

  • Human studies must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and provide ethics approval.

  • Written informed consent required for case reports.

  • Animal studies must comply with institutional/national guidelines.

  • Clinical trial registration (e.g., CTRI, ClinicalTrials.gov) is encouraged.


7. References

  • Vancouver style required.

  • Superscript numbers in-text.

  • List references numerically in order of appearance.

  • Examples:

    • Journal: Smith J, Brown K. Efficacy of homeopathic treatment in hyperlipidemia. J Adv Homoeopath Stud. 2023;5(2):123–130.

    • Book: Hahnemann S. Organon of Medicine. 6th ed. New Delhi: B Jain Publishers; 2002.


8. Authorship and Contributions

  • Authorship must follow ICMJE criteria.

  • Author contributions and acknowledgments must be transparently declared.


9. Submission Process

  • Submit manuscripts via the JAHS OJS submission portal.

  • Upload the following files:

    1. Manuscript (Word file).

    2. Figures and tables (separate files if needed).

    3. Signed Author Declaration Form (originality, authorship, ethics).

    4. Plagiarism Report (≤15% similarity).

    5. Patient consent form (if applicable).


10. Peer Review and Editorial Process

  • JAHS follows a double-blind peer review.

  • Each submission is reviewed by at least two experts.

  • Final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief.


11. Fees and Charges

  • JAHS is an open access journal.

  • Currently, no submission or processing fees are charged.

  • Authors will be notified if Article Processing Charges (APCs) are introduced in the future.


12. Post-Acceptance and Publication

  • Accepted articles undergo copyediting, typesetting, and proofing.

  • Galley proofs are sent to authors for approval.

  • Each article receives a DOI and is published online in the scheduled issue.


 

Submission Preparation Checklist

Submission Checklist – Journal of Advanced Homoeopathic Studies (JAHS)

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that all the following items are prepared and included. Submissions not adhering to these requirements may be returned to authors for revision.


1. General Requirements

  • Manuscript is prepared in English and follows the JAHS Author Guidelines.

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).

  • Double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font, with continuous line and page numbering.

  • Title page includes title, author(s) full name, affiliation(s), ORCID IDs, corresponding author details (email, phone, address).

  • A structured abstract (250–300 words) with 3–6 keywords.


2. Main Manuscript

  • Manuscript type clearly indicated (Original Article, Review, Case Report, etc.).

  • Sections follow required structure (e.g., IMRAD for original research).

  • Figures, tables, and images are embedded at the end of the manuscript (and also uploaded separately as supplementary files).

  • References formatted according to Vancouver style.

  • Word count and reference limits are respected (as per manuscript type).


3. Ethical Compliance

  • Ethical approval statement included (for human/animal studies).

  • Informed consent obtained and mentioned (for case reports/case series).

  • Conflict of Interest declaration completed.

  • Funding sources acknowledged.


4. Plagiarism & Originality

  • Manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.

  • Plagiarism report attached (from iThenticate/Turnitin/other recognized tool) with similarity index below 20% (excluding references).

Reminder for Authors:
Submissions that do not comply with this checklist will be returned without review. Authors are strongly encouraged to double-check formatting, references, and ethical documentation before submission.

Should be well-documented, with informed consent and ethical approval where needed.

Written by editors or guest experts.

Letters to the Editor / Correspondence

Reader responses or expert commentary on published work.

Perspective / Opinion Pieces

Author viewpoints on ongoing debates, innovations, or policies.

Methodology / Technical Notes

Describes new or improved methods, equipment, or protocols.
